'And Should We Die' is a historical novel, written by Arthur Ruger. Based on an actual event, Arthur Ruger writes as descendant of ancestors of the Mormon Handcart Tragedy of 1856. With a compassionate look at a little known tragedy in the American pioneer history; the Willie-Martin handcart pilgrimage to what was then the isolated great Salt Lake Valley territory, not yet part of the United States. The books speaks to some of the incredulous hardships that took so many lives, and for the reader, the sense of personal faith these people had no choice but to exercise comes through in the story.

A historical novel about faith and courage.
